According to www.aviationpros.com Melbourne, Florida is considered to be the fastest growing aviation and aerospace manufacturing center in the United States. Southeast Aerospace moved to the General Aviation side of Orlando Melbourne International Airport (MLB) in 1997 and has grown into a thriving mid-market company over the last 19 years. Helping with the continued expansion, in April 2016 AeroMod International announced that it was officially relocating its corporate headquarters to MLB.
AeroMod International, originally based in the Detroit area, is an avionics and airplane structural modification and Part 145 repair service center. They specialize in modifying components of narrow and wide body Airbus and Boeing aircraft, rapid installations of GoGo inflight Internet and entertainment systems, and performing heavy checks. President of AeroMod International Gary Girard said, “From our 114,000-square-foot site in Melbourne, which includes a 77,500-square-foot hangar, we are well positioned to support our planned growth as we serve our customers in the U.S. and around the world.” He added, “Melbourne is also an ideal location to serve as a base for our Rapid Install Teams.” On Thursday Oct, 27 AeroMod announced at the ribbon cutting ceremony that it has already added 150 jobs to the MLB hangar and will be expanding over the next year and adding an estimated 100 more jobs during that time.
Southeast Aerospace is excited about the airport expansion & notable economic development happening in the Melbourne area during these last few years. We welcome AeroMod International to MLB and we look forward to helping with the continued growth of our community.
