What’s Going on at SEA? – April 2016

Getting to know Rob Reed

rob-reedRob Reed, Director of Aircraft Modifications

Tell us what you do here at SEA.
I am responsible for the PMO department at SEA. This includes working with Business Development and Tech Sales regarding government RFP’s and commercial proposals. And working with our Program Managers to ensure ongoing projects are on time, on budget and are meeting our customers’ requirements.

How long have you worked here? Tell us a little bit about the experience. I have been here at SEA for 8 years and have been in aviation for over 24 years. The timing of my start here has allowed me to see the company grow from a smaller, but great team of installers in one hangar to a department that now makes up half the company that includes 4 hangars and back shops!

What do you like about working at SEA? The passion of our owners. We aren’t just another department at a service center. Avionics is usually put on the back burner of a full service MRO. But our owners are dedicated to growing our business and putting out the highest quality product to our customers. It’s not just about the numbers. That truly is a rarity in this or any industry!

Do you have any special memories or funny stories of working here? During our first project with the Republic of Korea Army (in S Korea), the base commander invited our team to a traditional Korean Barbeque. That was an experience that I will never forget!

What do you like to do outside of the office? Fish, surf and play video games with my teen boys (mostly video games!).

Do you have a favorite quote? Treat others the way you want to be treated, no matter their political/religious views or financial status. Don’t know if this is a quote, more of an outlook on life!
