Engineering Administrator

JOB DESCRIPTION & REQUIREMENTS:
The position of Engineering Administrator provides support for the engineering department as well as other departments.

Salary DOE: $15.00 - $25.00 per hour
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide configuration and data management support for multiple projects.
  • Coordinate Engineering, Program Management and Quality document / drawing review, sign-off and subsequent release.
  • Review documents prior to release for compliance to documented standards and procedures.
  • Release all Engineering, Quality and Program Management documentation to intranet-based configuration management system.
  • Load and maintain all Engineering Bill of Materials for all product configurations within ERP software.
  • Manage document and drawing number assignment and project master drawing lists for Engineering, Quality and Program Management departments.
  • Maintain Engineering Change Request (ECR) queue and prioritize accordingly. Manage processing and subsequent release of all ECRs.
  • Assist with minor editing of Engineering documents and drawings using AutoCAD LT, Adobe Acrobat, and Microsoft Word.
  • Assist Program Management with desktop publishing and graphics for Proposals (RFPs), Statements of Work (SOWs), and Project Plans using Microsoft Word and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Assist Engineering and Quality with policy and procedure development. Prepare procedures, forms and work instructions for review and implement all changes during the review process.
  • Send new and revised documents to external customers using secure file sharing and transfer service (Citrix ShareFile). Handle internal and external requests for controlled documents and maintain distribution log.
  • Track and report quarterly metrics for the Engineering and Quality departments.
  • Order supplies and other administrative duties as needed.
  • Orientation and training of new hires within the Engineering department.
  • As needed, interprets requests, helps implement action, and decides whether manager should be notified of important or emergency matters

QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree or higher degree in relevant subject area is preferred
  • Previous manufacturing and/or administrative experience is preferred
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and flexibility
  • Exceptional attention to detail and extremely thorough and accurate in the cross-checking of information
  • Acceptable background check for required matters
  • US Persons as defined in 22CFR 120.15
REQUIREMENTS

Working Conditions

The working conditions for this position will usually consist of an office environment. This position will require the normal business week schedule of Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm. These conditions will require excellent organizational, time, and stress management skills to complete all required tasks.

Physical Requirements

Manual dexterity is required in order to work with small components when necessary. The ability to move around and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs. is required. Certain environmental conditions that are associated with an office workspace may elevate particular sensory demands. These demands may range from eyestrain from looking at computers for long periods of time to any noise and activity disturbances produced from an active office environment. While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to sit for long periods of time.
