Directional Gyro
  • 3" vacuum-powered Directional Gyro with Heading Bug available an an option if aircraft not so equipped
  • Needed to enable the Heading Hold/Heading Pre-select mode by providing heading information to autopilot
  • Rotating heading bug pre-selects heading; aircraft turns at approximately 3 degrees/second to intercept and hold selected heading
  • In heading mode, deviations caused by turbulance and pilot over-ride are automatically corrected
  • PLEASE NOTE:
    OTHER HSI UNITS WITH HEADING SYNCHROS MAY BE USED WITH S-TEC AUTOPILOTS TO PERFORM SAME FUNCTIONS AS MENTIONED ABOVE
