Can an original GNS-XLS be upgraded to meet FDE and BRNAV requirements?

Yes, GNS-XLS with P/N 17960-0101-XXXX can be modified to incorporate the latest Fault Detection and Exclusion (FDE) and BRNAV software. Service Bulletin GNS-XLS-M2 consists of changing the software on the GPS XPRESS Board, updating the system software, and labeling the unit to indicate the change to a unit P/N 17960-0102-XXXX.
