The L3 FA2100 may be installed as a retrofit for the mechanical tape-based GA100 CVR. The following part numbers of the FA2100 may be used for this retrofit:

The solid state FA2100 is recommended in place of the tape type GA100 for reliability and long-term maintenance reasons.

The FA2100 GACVR Instruction Manual specifically mentions this retrofit with a few conditions.

• The GA100 can be powered by either AC or DC, the FA2100 is 28VDC only
• The GA150 control panel may be retained however it is recommended to replace it with a control panel still in production
• If the GA100 installation utilizes the A55B microphone, it must be removed and replaced with a S056 model microphone
• The Test Lamp wire connected to pin 23 must be moved to pin 44 in the CVR mating connector
