What does it mean when SEA indicates a part as "Restricted"?
The term "Restricted" is used to identify parts that require an export license to most destinations outside of the United States and to foreign persons within the United States. This includes the physical part as well as technical data (Install Manual etc.) pertaining directly to these products. These items are controlled either by the United States, Department of Commerce (DOC) or the Department of State (DOS). Items controlled by the DOC will have an Export Control Classification Number and items controlled by the DOS will have a United Sates Munitions List number (USML). These products and/or literature must have the appropriate approval (i.e. export license) by the DOC or the DOS before they can be exported from the United States. This includes technical data provided verbally or via email.
