Yes. The KAC-1052 is certified for vertical installation in fixed wing aircraft only. Therefore, helicopter installation must use a horizontal mount P/N 071-00202-0001 which is supplied in the 050-03699-0000/0001 kits.
No, the HF-1050 (aka KHF-1050) has the ability to install 2 systems sharing one antenna with only one system transmitting at a time. An auto select transmit scheme determines which system is selected to transmit. When one system transmit, reception on the other system is disabled. The KHF-1050 does not require any external accessories for dual system operation other than a custom fabricated coaxial cable to allow interconnecting the two KAC-1050 antenna couplers to the antenna.
