The Part 29 ADS-B AML Pending STC from Southeast Aerospace
As the ADS-B mandate draws closer, operators and modification facilities are seeing an increase in options to meet the requirement. Regardless of the aircraft category, options can be found from nearly every avionics OEM. Southeast Aerospace has observed and listened to the aviation community. We see the benefits the ADS-B Out mandate brings to hardworking ATC controllers. We have seen the cost savings of the free weather and traffic displayed through ADS-B In. In response, SEA has partnered with Garmin International, Gables Engineering, and Peregrine Avionics and Air Methods as the ODA to bring an effective and flexible ADS-B solution to the Part 29 rotorcraft community.
Southeast Aerospace’s Part 29 initial AML (pending) is expected late first quarter 2018. An expanded AML is expected to arrive early third quarter, and EASA approval pending during late third quarter of 2018. This ADS-B solution will be available at your local Garmin dealer.

Southeast Aerospace teamed up with Garmin International, Gables Engineering, and Peregrine Avionics to bring the most cost-effective and flexible ADS-B solution to the business aviation community.
Southeast Aerospace’s Part 25 AML STC# ST00835DE is available for non-TCAS II. The prototype installation was performed on a Cessna Citation III. FAA conformity has been completed along with the Ground and Flight Test. Operators will have the option to receive ADS-B In on their portable devices and/or existing Garmin displays (additional approvals may be required for the ADS-B In display). Estimated price of the system installed is UNDER $50,000 at your local Garmin dealer.
This is all possible through the installation of dual Garmin GTX-3X5Rs and the Gables G7534-100X control head. The Gables control head can be installed to replace the aircraft’s existing transponder control and provide full transponder control of both GTX-3X5Rs. The installation of an ADS-B fail annunciation to the panel will be required by the STC. The use of the GTX-3X5R’s internal GPS or a Garmin GNS/GTN unit panel mounted GPS will meet the positioning requirements of AC-20-165B.
