Avionics Systems Designer - Integration

Provide avionics system integration and electrical design experience and using Computer Aided Design application such as AutoCAD 2014, Inventor and Solidworks in order to generate, modify and revise engineering drawings in support of on aircraft electrical modification for various avionics systems integration design with minimum direction from engineer.

Compensation: DOE
  • Coordinate with engineers for specific design requirement and understand the requirement for the tasks
  • Design system interface based on the OEM installation manual and use available CAD application to generate the interface engineering drawing (wiring diagram)
  • Design electrical wire harnesses assembly and RF coaxial cable assembly using available CAD application to generate the engineering drawing
  • Design on aircraft electrical installation for the wire harnesses, RF coaxial cable assemblies, electrical/electronic components using available CAD application to generate the installation engineering drawing
  • Coordinate with Draftsman for drafting support
  • Convey design concept to Draftsman for creating engineering drawing
  • Create, modify or revise CAD drawing using available CAD application to meeting the project requirement
  • Supporting engineer for creating engineering drawing
  • Estimate time needed for completing the assigned tasks
  • Ensure the company drafting standards are followed
  • Ensure tasks performed are error free
  • Adhere to the estimated schedule
  • Adhere to all Southeast Aerospace company policies, safety guidelines, and code of ethical conduct

  • Local hire preferred.
  • High school graduation or equivalent minimum, associate or above in engineering relevant field preferred.
  • Two years of experience in avionics system integration and electrical wire harnesses design
  • Two years of experience with AutoCAD 2000 (or later revision) application
  • Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat application for creating PDF
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5
  • Familiarity with military, SAE, NAS, material and electrical components as well as electronic component standards
  • Ability to generate engineering drawings with minimum direction from engineer
  • Acceptable background check for required matters
  • Lawful US Person as defined in US Code 8 U.S.C. 1342b(a)(3).
  • The Systems Designer shall work within the regular shift (8AM to 5PM). Overtime may require be required.
  • The Systems Designer must be able to crawl in the aircraft and take photos on some specific area for design purpose.
