Avionics Systems Engineer - Integration

Provide system integration engineering experience in support of various avionics system integration and on aircraft electrical modification engineering package design. Use Computer Aided Design application such as AutoCAD 2014, Inventor, and Solidworks to generate, modify and revise engineering drawings in support of on-aircraft electrical modifications for various avionics system integration designs. Provide direction to electrical Designer and Draftsman to generate engineering drawings. Generate necessary engineering analyses, instructions, procedures, and reports to complete the engineering design package.

  • Coordinate with program manager for specific design requirement and understand the requirement for the tasks
  • Coordinate with Systems and Equipment DER for regulatory requirement as required for the project
  • Over all responsible for the project assigned.
  • Design system interface based on the OEM installation manual and use available CAD application to generate the interface engineering drawing (wiring diagram)
  • Design electrical wire harnesses assembly and RF coaxial cable assembly using available CAD application to generate the engineering drawing
  • Design on aircraft electrical installation for the wire harnesses, RF coaxial cable assemblies, electrical/electronic components using available CAD application to generate the installation engineering drawing
  • Coordinate with Draftsman and Designer for drafting and design activity support
  • Convey design concept to Draftsman for creating engineering drawing
  • Create, modify or revise CAD drawing using available CAD application to meeting the project requirement
  • Coordinate with Mechanical Engineer for mechanical design support on assigned project.
  • Prepare necessary engineering analysis, instruction, procedure, and report
  • Estimate time needed for completing the assigned project
  • Ensure the company drafting standards are followed
  • Ensure tasks performed are error free
  • Adhere to the estimated schedule
  • Provide consultation in your discipline area for project not assigned to you

  • Local hire preferred
  • Four year Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering degree is preferred
  • Three years direct experience with avionics system integration, wire harnesses and on-aircraft installation designs
  • Two years of experience with AutoCAD 2000 (or later revision) application
  • Two years of experience with Autodesk Inventor and Solidworks application
  • Knowledge of Adobe Acrobat application for creating PDFs
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite applications
  • Knowledge of ASME Y14.100 and ASME Y14.5
  • Basic knowledge of 14 CFR Part 23, 25, 27 and 29
  • Familiar with military, SAE, NAS, material/electrical component /electronic component standards
  • Able to understand system requirement from customer and convert the requirement to engineering data package
  • Able to convert the analysis results into engineering data package
  • Able to integrate the regulatory requirement into engineering data package
  • Acceptable background check for required matters

  • The Electrical Engineer 1 works within normal shift hours (8AM to 5PM). Overtime may be required for the position. The job operates in a professional office environment and the naturally busy conditions will require excellent organizational, time, and stress management skills to complete all required tasks.
  • The Electrical Engineer 1 must be able to crawl in an aircraft and take photos of specific areas for visual aid in design purposes and development.
